Mission Statement
2008 This update is to make the community aware of the Project Graduation Foundation, Inc. of Martin County, Florida, formed in October 2003. We are now an IRS approved 501(c)(3) ID # 31227 Not For Profit Florida Corporation. The purpose of this Foundation is to collect and manage all of the funds for each Project Graduation Event for all of the Martin County School Board public high schools. Now there are Martin County, South Fork and Jensen Beach High Schools and in the future there will be additional Martin County School Board public high schools. Therefore the Foundation was necessary and shall be vital in an effort to make funds available for Project Graduation Events for each of these schools and eliminate competition for donations. We ask you to be as generous as possible and remember that due to this event many lives have been saved including those who are not graduates or even students but members of the community and many more will be saved in the future. Project Graduation is a locally run, nationally developed drug and alcohol-free program designed for graduating seniors. It encourages graduates to remain in a controlled environment from immediately after graduation ceremonies until dawn the following morning by providing them with music, lots of food, games, activities, entertainment, and valuable prizes. School representatives, parents/guardians, adult community volunteers and professional Martin County EMT personnel with their emercency vehicle and supplies supervise this all-night event. Project Graduation has raised the consciousness of the entire community as it pertains to substance abuse and driving. Over the past 9 Years more than 7,000 seniors from the Public High Schools in Martin County have participated in Project Graduation. Police reports of incidents due to graduates on graduation nights have been insignificant, and there have been NO DUI arrests or deaths. Each year nearly 75% of the graduating class from each school attends their respective events.
